Exposing Students to Programming

For the past couple months, the Mobile CSP team has been spending time collecting data from our students. After getting consent from parents/guardians, students were asked to complete a Start of Course survey that asked them about their backgrounds and Computer Science experience. As you can see from Figure A, more than half of the students currently taking the Mobile CSP course characterized their programming experience at the beginner level and more than 75% have little to no experience with programming.

Some additional teachers signed on through word of mouth, and we now have 15 teachers in Connecticut and Massachusetts, teaching the course to over 300 students!
